Cost of Access
ARCHER time is measured in kAU (kilo Allocation Units), the conversion rate of CPUh to kAU can be found on the kAU calculator page.
The kAU unit is based on the performance of a range of application benchmarks on ARCHER. These benchmarks were chosen to represent the range of applications used on the UK National HPC Facility. The performance of the benchmarks was assessed relative to the predecessor to ARCHER (HECToR) and the ARCHER kAU set such that 1 kAU produces (on average) the same amount of application performance on both HECToR and ARCHER.
